LA Wildcats Crush DC Defenders 39-9

The Los Angeles Wildcats just crushed the DC Defenders’ hype train in a major way.

It was a 39-9 thrashing from the Wildcats, who were led by quarterback Josh Johnson. Johnson completed 72 percent of his passes for 278 yards, three touchdowns, and no turnovers. Wide receiver Tre McBride hauled in five passes for 109 yards and two of those scores. The Wildcats running game also produced some big numbers, as running back Martez Carter scored twice on the ground.

The offensive side of the ball was a completely different story for DC. The Defenders, who were coming in hot off a 2-0 start, saw a rough day at quarterback for Cardale Jones. Jones completed just 50 percent of his passes for 103 yards, no touchdowns, and four interceptions. His quarterback rating was an abysmal 20.7. The only Defenders touchdown came from running back Nick Brossette.

Defense was almost nonexistent for DC, but the Wildcats absolutely dominated on that side of the ball. The Wildcats scored three sacks, five tackles for a loss, four interceptions, a forced fumble, and fumble recovery. LA will head to New York next week for Week Four, while the Defenders will march into Tampa Bay to face the Vipers.
