XFL league sources confirm talks with Colin Kaepernick

Vince McMahon has his eyes set on the XFL’s first major star.

The Sporting News is reporting that Colin Kaepernick spoke with XFL executives about joining the league.

There aren’t many details available but, sources say Kaepernick wanted $20 million to play for the league. It was previously reported by the Associated Press that the AAF (Alliance of American Football) was interested in signing Kaepernick but that seems unlikely now after reports have surfaced about the league having money issues after the second week.

The XFL would have to make a giant exception if they want Kaepernick because their plan is to sign starting quarterbacks to $250,000 per season deals.

It makes sense to bring in some recognizable names but $20 million might not make sense business-wise.

Quarterbacks, team names and logos are expected to be announced in the next couple of months.
