Tim Tebow Had Talks With XFL But Wants To Continue Baseball Career

Tim Tebow says there was “some communication” with the XFL about joining the league but he passed on it so he could continue with his baseball career.

Tebow says right now he is focused on making it to a major league baseball roster so a move to the XFL is not right for him.

“I love what they’re doing, and I think it has a chance to have success, and I think that’s great,” Tebow said about the league.

“I think there needs to be a place for a lot of players that are really good, and should and could be playing in the NFL, and are better than a lot of NFL players. There’s a chance they’re going to be seen.”

Tebow hasn’t played professional football since 2010. He signed a minor league contract with the New York Mets in 2016.

The XFL has also had talks with Colin Kaepernick but, according to XFL Commissioner Oliver Luck, they passed on him because of his “exorbitant” salary request.
