The Tampa Bay Vipers have made another roster move ahead of kickoff this weekend.
It was announced on the Vipers’ official Twitter page that the team signed tight end Pharoah McKever and waived wide receiver Stacy Coley. The official announcement can be found below.
McKever was previously with the Vipers during training camp before being released, failing to make the 52-man roster. He was subsequently signed by Team 9 before being scooped back up by the Vipers. As for Coley, he was traded for from the Dallas Renegades last month. The Vipers sent wide receiver Freddie Martino to Dallas in exchange for Coley.
The team is loaded up with receivers at the moment, making Coley, who fell down the Vipers’ depth chart ahead of opening day, disposable. As for McKever, his signing makes sense given tight end DeAndre Goolsby is currently dealing with a neck injury.
The Vipers open up their season at the New York Guardians this Sunday at 2:00 p.m. ET on FOX.
