Now, we have confirmation that will, in fact, happen. Joseph Person of The Athletic reports that Olsen will be part of FOX’s Super Bowl coverage in February. He’ll also serve as a color analyst for five XFL games as part of FOX’s coverage of the upstart league.
“He’s set to work with FOX during the Super Bowl week in Miami, as well as its pre-game show, according to an industry source. Olsen then will serve as a color analyst for five XFL games as part of FOX’s coverage of the upstart league, the source said.”
Olsen has some experience calling NFL games, working with Kenny Albert in the commentary booth earlier this year. The Carolina Panther is likely nearing the end of his football days, and has shown a great interest in the broadcasting aspect of the sport as of late.
There is currently no news on which games Olsen will be working this season, but we’ll keep you updated.
