St Louis BattleHawks’ Kenny Robinson Will Be NFL Draft Eligible After Season

Kenny Robinson

While some well-known athletes are deciding to forgo an opportunity in the XFL, one young defensive back is seizing the moment to potentially land on an NFL roster.

According to XFL Director of Player Personel Eric Galko, St. Louis BattleHawks defensive back Kenny Robinson will be eligible for the 2020 NFL Draft after the conclusion of the XFL’s inaugural season, which begins in February.

“.@XFLBattleHawks star safety Kenny Robinson will be in the 2020 NFL Draft after the completion of the @xfl2020 season. And with his talent, what he’s showed in XFL training camp, and what NFL teams have indicated, he won’t be waiting long come NFL draft weekend!”

Robinson took to Twitter to react to the news.

“Extremely Blessed and Excited to announce that I have been Accepted into the 2020 NFL Draft Pool One step closer to fulfilling my dreams”

Robinson is an NFL-calibre talent who ran into some academic issues during his time at West Virginia. After his sophomore year in 2018, Robinson opted to leave school, rather than transfer elsewhere, and play in the XFL in an attempt to get on NFL teams’ radars. During his time as a Mountaineer, Robinson amassed 123 tackles, 7 interceptions, and 7 passes defended.

Before leaving college, Robinson was projected to be drafted in the first round by several draft experts. Perhaps he’ll prove why during his time with the BattleHawks this season.
