DC Defenders Blow Out New York Guardians 27-0

The DC Defenders looked absolutely dominant in their Week Two victory over the New York Guardians earlier today.

Quarterback play was completely opposite for each team. Defenders quarterback Cardale Jones threw for 276 yards, two touchdowns, and one interception. He finished the day with a 91.7 quarterback rating. As for The New York Guardians, quarterback Matt McGloin finished the afternoon with a 10.1 quarterback rating, passing for 44 yards, no touchdowns, and two interceptions.

The defensive play for both teams was also very different. New York didn’t do much on the stat sheet aside from snagging one interception. However, the Defenders truly lived up to their name. The Defenders recorded three sacks, a forced fumble and recovery, as well as two interceptions – one being a pick-six – to help put New York away.

DC improves to 2-0 on the season, while New York drops to 1-1. Next week, DC will travel to LA against the Wildcats, while New York makes its way to St. Louis against the BattleHawks.
